PM Modi and Leaders Pay Tribute to Freedom Fighters Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Chandrashekhar Azad
New Delhi [India], July 23: On the birth anniversary of freedom fighters Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Chandrashekhar Azad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other BJP leaders, paid homage to these brave hearts who fought for India’s freedom.
PM Modi’s Tribute
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to honor Bal Gangadhar Tilak, stating, “Tributes to Lokmanya Tilak on his birth anniversary. He will always be remembered as a towering figure in India’s fight for independence. He was a visionary who tirelessly worked to ignite the spirit of nationalism and, at the same time, emphasized education and service…”
In another post, PM Modi paid homage to Chandrashekhar Azad, saying, “On his birth anniversary, I pay homage to the great Chandra Shekhar Azad. He was a fearless hero, blessed with unwavering courage and commitment to India’s freedom. His ideals and thoughts continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of millions of people, particularly the youth.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid homage on X, saying, “Humble tribute to the great freedom fighter, nationalist thinker, ‘Lokmanya’ Bal Gangadhar Tilak, on his birth anniversary, who ignited the flame of revolution against British rule for complete independence! Your timeless thoughts, creative world and sacrificial life are a guide for all of us.”
He also honored Chandrashekhar Azad, stating, “Humble tribute to the great revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad on his birth anniversary, who sacrificed his life to free Mother India from the shackles of slavery! Your life of sacrifice dedicated to the service of Mother India will continue to inspire countless youth to serve the nation.”

Union Minister of External Affairs and Rajya Sabha member S Jaishankar paid homage on X, saying, “Pay homage to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak on his birth anniversary. A staunch advocate of the Swadeshi movement and Swaraj, his legacy continues to inspire our Atmanirbhar Bharat journey.”
He also paid tribute to Azad, stating, “Tributes to the great freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad on his birth anniversary. His unwavering courage and sacrifice will remain a source of inspiration for all Indians.”
About Bal Gangadhar Tilak
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was a scholar, mathematician, philosopher, and passionate nationalist who helped create the framework for India’s independence. He was the president of the Indian Home Rule League when it was created in 1914 and signed the Lucknow Pact in 1916 with Mohammed Ali Jinnah, ensuring Hindu-Muslim cooperation in the nationalist movement.
