Amid the ongoing flood situation in Telangana, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have spoken to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and assured him of providing the required assistance. Reddy mentioned that there has been significant loss, especially in Khammam and Mahabubabad areas, with water entering people’s homes.

He added, “PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the Telangana CM and assured them of providing the required assistance. They have sent NDRF teams for relief work.” BJP workers are also providing relief materials to the flood-affected people. The central government will send officials to assess the situation after receiving a report from the state government.

Rahul Gandhi Urges Congress Leaders to Mobilize Aid

Earlier, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over the flood situation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He urged Congress leaders to mobilize aid to support the ongoing relief and rescue efforts. Gandhi emphasized that the Telangana government is working tirelessly to manage the crisis and initiate the rebuilding process. He also urged both the Central Government and the Andhra Pradesh Government to provide comprehensive rehabilitation packages for those affected.

CM Revanth Reddy Announces Immediate Assistance

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy declared immediate assistance of Rs 5 crore to the flood-hit districts of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubabad, and Suryapet. He also announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the families of those who died in the floods. The Chief Minister instructed authorities to respond quickly to the damage caused and assured that compensation would be increased for the loss of cattle, goats, and sheep. The state government will submit a comprehensive report on flood damages to the central government and seek immediate assistance, urging the Centre to declare the floods as a national calamity.
