PK Foundation’s Sundeep Bhutoria Urges PM Modi to Include Arts and Culture in CSR Funding
New Delhi [India], July 1: Sundeep Bhutoria, Chairman of PK Foundation, has made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government. He has requested that arts, culture, and literature be recognized as eligible for funds under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme.
The PK Foundation supports arts, culture, literature, and those involved in these fields. The sector often suffers from a lack of funds. The Foundation helps artists and authors promote their work both in India and abroad.
In India, companies are required to set aside a small proportion of their funds for CSR activities, as per Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013. This law mandates that companies with a certain turnover and profitability spend 2% of their average net profit from the past three years on CSR activities. The government has defined various areas where these CSR funds can be used, with proper proof of usage.
Bhutoria believes that if companies were to donate a small amount towards the growth of arts, culture, and literature, it could significantly support India’s art and culture sector.
