Union Minister Piyush Goyal recently met with William E. Conway, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of The Carlyle Group, during his visit to the United States. The meeting, held in Washington DC, focused on enhancing capital flows into India, with Carlyle showing a positive outlook on India’s economic growth. Goyal shared on social media that they discussed investment vehicles to strengthen financial inflows into India.

The meeting concluded Goyal’s four-day US visit, which also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on critical minerals between India and the US. This MoU aims to create resilient semiconductor supply chains and foster collaboration between India’s Ministry of Mines and the US government.

Goyal emphasized the importance of sustainability and clean energy in their discussions, as well as exploring new areas of cooperation like tourism. He mentioned the advancement of the ‘innovation handshake’ signed last year, with plans for a technology and sustainability summit next year. The discussions also included expanding engagement beyond bilateral ties to collaborate with third countries on joint projects.

Additionally, the 9th CEO Forum was highlighted, where new business collaboration opportunities in technology and investment were explored.
