Phool Singh Masram’s Complaint Leads to Action Against Blood Black Marketing in Mandla Hospital

In Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, a serious issue of black marketing of blood has come to light. Phool Singh Masram, a concerned father, lodged a complaint after being asked to pay Rs 3,400 for blood for his sick son. This complaint led to significant actions by the hospital authorities.

Complaint and Investigation

Phool Singh Masram reported that his son needed blood, and although the first supply was free, he was later asked to pay Rs 3,400 for more blood. He lodged a complaint with the police and submitted a written complaint to the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. K C Sarante.

The complaint was taken seriously, and an investigation was conducted by Additional Collector Rajendra Kumar Singh, CMHO Dr. K C Sarante, and Civil Surgeon Dr. Vijay Dhurve.

Actions Taken

As a result of the investigation, three outsourced employees were terminated: Shubham Janghela (Lab Supervisor), Durgesh Kachwaha (Van Driver), and Kamlesh Dhurve (Van Attender) from the Blood Center contracted firm Surya Charitable Trust Mumbai.

Show-cause notices were issued to several regular and contract lab technicians, including Anil Bhoyar, Yaduraj Chaurasia, Yaduvesh Yadav, Shyam Hardah, Ashok Kumar Uike, Pavitra Kachwaha, and Ravindra Merscole. Nursing staff Urmila Marskole and Varsha Patel also received notices. They were asked to reply within 24 hours or face further action.

A notice was also issued to the pathologist of District Hospital Mandla, and a criminal case was registered against Pradeep Barmaiya, who provided the blood, at the Mandla Police Station.
