People from Various States Organize Langar for Amarnath Pilgrims in Anantnag
People from different states across India organized a langar (community kitchen) for Amarnath pilgrims at the Pahalgam base camp in Anantnag district, Jammu and Kashmir. The event was filled with joy as people danced and enjoyed various foods.
A pilgrim shared, “The arrangements are good. Every kind of food is being served here, and medical facilities are also available. We are lucky that God has called us.”
Another batch of pilgrims left for the Amarnath Yatra from the Panthachowk Srinagar base camp under tight security on Thursday morning. They headed towards the base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam to connect with their faith and seek blessings.
The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board organizes the Amarnath Yatra, which has two routes: one through Pahalgam and the other through Baltal. The pilgrimage started on June 29 and will end on August 19, lasting 52 days.
In the midst of the ongoing Yatra, Inspector General of Police Kashmir, V.K. Birdi, held a Joint Security Review Meeting at Nunwan Base Camp, Pahalgam, on July 24. He directed all security agencies to work closely to ensure a safe and secure pilgrimage. The meeting focused on strategies to counter terrorism and maintain law and order in the Pahalgam area.
The meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including police officers, Army, CAPF forces, NDRF, SDRF, MRT, Base Camp directors, security, traffic, fire services, and intelligence agencies. The commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the pilgrims was emphasized.
