Pawan Kalyan Donates Rs 1 Crore to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy for Flood Relief
On Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad. During the meeting, Kalyan handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help those affected by the recent floods.
The meeting took place at Revanth Reddy’s residence in Jubilee Hills. Pawan Kalyan had previously announced his intention to donate to the flood relief efforts in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He also pledged Rs 1 lakh each to 400 flood-hit gram panchayats in Andhra Pradesh.
“Due to the floods, 386 panchayats were damaged. I am donating one lakh rupees to 400 panchayats from my personal savings. I am also announcing a donation of Rs 1 crore to the Telangana CM for flood relief efforts. I will handover it directly to CM Revanth Reddy,” said Pawan Kalyan.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had earlier declared an immediate assistance of Rs 5 crore to the flood-affected districts of Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubabad, and Suryapet.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, along with Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and BJP MP Etala Rajender, visited the flood-affected areas in Khammam district to assess the situation. BJP leader Prakash Reddy assured the people of Telangana that the Union Government would provide all possible financial assistance amid the ongoing flood situation.
Heavy rainfall has caused significant damage in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Krishna and Guntur districts, and neighboring Telangana has also been severely affected.
