Introduction

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) organized the fourth PM GatiShakti Eastern Zone District Level Capacity Building workshop in Patna. The event saw participation from over 100 officials across 44 districts from Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

The workshop was inaugurated by Nitish Mishra, Minister of Industries and Tourism, Government of Bihar. Joint Secretary, DPIIT, E. Srinivas, and Secretary, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, Bandana Preyashi, were also present.

Nitish Mishra emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision of 2047. He encouraged the use of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for project planning and data-driven decision-making to attract investments.

E. Srinivas highlighted the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan as a cornerstone for national growth, aligning with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Since its launch, the Network Planning Group has evaluated 213 projects, including significant contributions to Bihar’s development.

Workshop Activities

The workshop showcased best practices and use cases of PMGS by various ministries and departments. It also presented the utility of the PMGS NMP platform in effective planning and the role of District Collectors in comprehensive area-based planning.

Future Plans

Efforts will be made to create district-level portals, provide login credentials to District Nodal Officers, and enrich NMP/SMP with district-level data layers. These initiatives aim to promote an integrated and holistic approach to planning.

The workshop served as a platform for extensive deliberations and cross-learning, strengthening area development planning for economic and social infrastructure across the country.
