New Delhi, September 23: Australian captain Pat Cummins has praised Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Cummins mentioned that they will try to keep Pant quiet during the series.

Pant made a remarkable return to Test cricket after a life-threatening road accident in late 2022. In the Chennai Test, he scored 109 runs from 128 balls, helping India secure a massive 280-run win over Bangladesh.

The highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia will begin on November 22 in Perth. India has dominated the series in recent years, winning the last four series, including two in Australia. Overall, India has won the trophy 10 times, while Australia has won it five times, with their last win in India in 2004-05.

Pant has played seven Test matches against Australia, scoring 624 runs at a strike rate of 72.13. Cummins, speaking on Star Sports, praised Pant’s aggressive play and his incredible reverse lap shot. He noted that every team has players who can change the game, and Pant is one of those for India.

The second Test will be held from December 6 to 10 in Adelaide, followed by the third Test in Brisbane from December 14 to 18. The series will continue with the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne from December 26 to 30 and conclude with the final Test in Sydney from January 3 to 7.
