Pashtun Tahafuz Movement Faces Violence from Pakistani Forces

In an effort to suppress dissent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan has been accused of orchestrating attacks against the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) just before the Pashtun National Jigra. Activists across the country have condemned these actions.
Activist Condemnation
Baloch rights activist Maharang Baloch criticized the Pakistani state and its military for their actions, calling them a “brutal display of state-sponsored violence.” She urged marginalized communities to support PTM and called for human rights organizations to hold the security forces accountable.
Recent Incidents
Recently, three people died and many were injured when Pakistani forces raided a PTM gathering in Khyber district. The PTM had assembled to discuss issues like violence and terrorism in the region. Eyewitnesses reported the use of tear gas and ammunition, causing chaos and injuries.
