Parents of Elavenil Valarivan and Ramita Jindal Hope for Olympic Medals
Ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024, the parents of Indian shooters Elavenil Valarivan and Ramita Jindal expressed their hopes for medals and discussed their preparations.
Indian Shooting Team’s Schedule
After a grand opening ceremony, the Indian contingent will compete in seven sports, including shooting, hockey, badminton, and tennis. The 10 m air rifle mixed team qualification will feature Sandeep Singh/Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta/Ramita Jindal at 12:30 pm, with medal rounds at 2 pm. The 10 m air pistol qualifiers for men and women will follow at 2 pm and 4 pm, respectively, featuring stars like Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Cheema, Manu Bhaker, and Rhythm Sangwan.
Elavenil Valarivan’s Preparation
Elavenil’s father, R Valarivan, shared that she has prepared well and is expected to bring glory to India. He mentioned that the Indian government has provided excellent training and exposure for the team. Elavenil’s mother, K Saroja Valarivan, added that Elavenil has been practicing hard for three to four years and is stronger and steadier than before.
Ramita Jindal’s Preparation
In Haryana, Ramita’s parents, Sonika and Arvind, expressed confidence in her performance. The residents of Ladwa in Kurukshetra held a ‘Mahayagya’ praying for her success. Arvind mentioned that Ramita has been improving with every match and has won two medals in the Asian Games. Sonika thanked the residents for their support and expressed hope that Ramita will give her 100 percent and win a medal for India.
