Paraguay Becomes 100th Member of International Solar Alliance in New Delhi

On June 26, Paraguay became the 100th country to join the International Solar Alliance (ISA) as a full member. The Instrument of Ratification was handed over in New Delhi by Paraguay’s Ambassador to India, Fleming Raul Duarte, to Abhishek Singh, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs.

The ISA is a collaborative platform aimed at increasing the use of solar energy to ensure energy access, security, and transition in member countries. It was launched by India and France during COP21 in Paris to support the Paris Climate Agreement. Currently, 119 countries are signatories to the ISA Framework Agreement, with Paraguay being the 100th to submit the Instrument of Ratification. Spain joined as the 99th member in May.
