Pakistan’s CTD Stops Terrorist Attack, Arrests Two in Larkana

In Larkana, Pakistan, a joint operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and law enforcement agencies successfully prevented a major terrorist attack. Two terrorists, Jameel Ahmed Sheikh and Salahuddin Jatoi, were arrested while planning explosions on August 14, Pakistan’s Independence Day.

Details of the Arrest

During a press conference, CTD – DSP Syed Asghar Shah revealed that the operation took place on Larkana’s Naudero Road. The arrested terrorists had received specialized training in Afghanistan for making and operating explosives. They were also involved in a cracker attack at the ASP office in Larkana on May 29.

Recovered Items

Law enforcement recovered half a kilo of explosives, detonators, hand grenades, and other explosion-related items from their possession. Both terrorists were already wanted in connection with various terrorist activities, and a case has been registered against them under the Anti-Terrorism and Explosive Act.

Blast in Hangu City

Earlier in the day, a blast occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu city, critically injuring two people. The blast took place on the Main GT Road in front of the Vocational College. District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid stated that the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains critical. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blast and have increased security measures in the area.

Street crimes, blasts, and robberies have become more common in Pakistan as the law and order situation continues to deteriorate.
