Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority Warns Pilots About Slippery Runway at Islamabad Airport Amid Heavy Rains
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has alerted pilots to be extremely cautious during landing and take-off at Islamabad International Airport due to a slippery runway caused by heavy monsoon rains. Runway No. 18L is especially wet, increasing the risk of planes slipping during operations.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds have affected Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and other parts of Punjab, breaking the heat spell in several areas. Significant downpours have also been reported in Gujarat, Kasur’s Kanganpur, and surrounding regions.
In response to numerous complaints, the CAA has introduced new guidelines to address boarding issues related to Passenger Name Record (PNR) discrepancies. Airlines are now required to ensure that passengers are not denied boarding due to mismatched PNR details and must update their PNR policies on their websites to prevent future inconveniences.
