Pakistan Skipper Shan Masood Aims to Create a Happy Team Environment for Upcoming Test Series Against Bangladesh
Rawalpindi [Pakistan], August 20: Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has expressed his main goal of creating a positive atmosphere in the dressing room where players can enjoy cricket. The two-match Test series against Bangladesh will begin on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
This series will also mark the first assignment of Jason Gillespie as Pakistan’s Test coach. The second Test is scheduled to be played from August 30 to September 3.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Masood emphasized the importance of a good team environment. “We’re making an effort to keep the environment good and inclusive. Our goal is to provide continuity to the players and create a dressing room atmosphere where players enjoy cricket and bring happiness to the fans,” Masood said.
He further added that his main focus is on leadership philosophy. “Our main focus and what I personally believe in as a leadership philosophy–which Jason also believes in, along with all the other players–is that everything starts from the dressing room. The reason is that we spend more time off the field than on it. So, whatever we set internally will be reflected externally,” he added.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the playing eleven for the first Test match against Bangladesh. The team includes key players like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, and Mohammad Ali.
