In recent developments, around 35-40 foreign terrorists are reported to be active in the Jammu region, particularly in Rajouri, Poonch, and Kathua. These terrorists, suspected to be former members of the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group, are operating in small teams of two to three members.

Recent Attacks

Recent attacks have targeted Hindu pilgrims and security forces in Reasi and Kathua. Security forces have been reviewing and strengthening their counter-terrorism measures in response.

Enhanced Security Measures

Security forces are enhancing their counter-terrorism grid, especially in areas along the international border. Additional troops and around 200 armored vehicles have been deployed to the region. Intelligence agencies are also upgrading their human and technical intelligence capabilities to prevent infiltration and strengthen the counter-terrorism grid.

The forces have been given a free hand to operate against terrorist support infrastructure, and strong action is expected against such elements.
