In Warangal, Telangana, the Vigilance and Enforcement wing, along with the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Mines, and State Tax Departments, conducted a surprise check on the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday. They seized 11 trucks for overloading and other road transport violations.

Details of the Operation

The joint surprise check was conducted at Komatapally Toll Gate, Hasanparthy Mandal. The officials seized eleven trucks carrying sand, granite blocks, and dolomite. Specifically, seven trucks were carrying sand, two were carrying flyash, one had dolomite, and one had granite blocks.

Violations and Penalties

The trucks were seized for overloading and other violations, including one truck without a transit form for dolomite. The vehicles were moved to the District Transport Office in Hanamkonda. Cases were registered under the Motor Vehicles (MV) (Amendment) Act, 1988, and the Mines and Mineral Development Regulation Act, 1957. A total fine of Rs 3.75 lakh was imposed on the truck owners.
