This event marks the establishment of the first elected government in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The president’s rule was recently revoked, allowing for the formation of a new government following the Assembly elections.

Election Results

The elections were held in three phases, with results announced on October 8. The NC-Congress alliance secured 48 out of 90 seats, with the National Conference leading the alliance to victory.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification revoking the president’s rule, paving the way for Omar Abdullah’s appointment as Chief Minister.
