Omar Abdullah Talks About New Criminal Laws in Jammu and Kashmir

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah commented on the new criminal laws, stating that the issue lies in their implementation. He mentioned that these laws are often first used in Jammu and Kashmir before affecting other states.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah defended the laws, highlighting extensive discussions in Parliament. The new laws, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Sanhita, came into effect on July 1, 2023.
