Omar Abdullah Criticizes BJP for Alleged Lies and Cheating in Jammu and Kashmir
Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He accused the BJP of not knowing how to do politics without lying or cheating. Abdullah made these remarks while campaigning for the third phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls.
Abdullah, who is a candidate from the Budgam and Ganderbal constituencies, claimed that the BJP has done nothing for Jammu and Kashmir over the past 10 years. He alleged that the party is trying to deceive people into voting for them by using religion, terror, or familism.
He also questioned why the BJP has not removed Article 371 from other states, as they did with Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. Article 371 grants special powers to certain states, including Goa, Mizoram, and Karnataka, among others.
Union Minister JP Nadda responded to Abdullah’s statements, denying the claims and pointing out that voter turnout has increased significantly in the recent assembly elections. Nadda stated that the voter turnout was 60% in the first phase and 58% in the second phase, compared to much lower percentages in the past.
The Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections are being held in three phases, with the final phase scheduled for October 1 and the counting of votes on October 8.
