Omar Abdullah and Congress Team Up to Challenge BJP in Jammu and Kashmir Elections
Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, announced a partnership with Congress to contest against the BJP in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections. He stated, “We aim to fight against the BJP like a consolidated front so that the possibility of success increases further.”
The National Conference will contest 51 of the 90 seats, while Congress will contest 32. The two parties will have a friendly contest on five seats and have left one seat each for CPI(M) and Panthers Party. Voting will be held for 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, which has 88.06 lakh electors according to the Election Commission.
