Oman Official Visits Indian Embassy After Shooting Incident in Muscat

Khalid Muslahi, Undersecretary of Oman’s Foreign Ministry, visited the Indian Embassy in Oman to offer condolences for the death of an Indian national in a shooting incident in Muscat. India’s Ambassador to Oman, Amit Narang, appreciated Muslahi’s visit and the prompt action by Omani authorities.

The shooting occurred at a mosque in Muscat on July 15, during a major religious event for Shia Muslims. Six people were killed, including four Pakistanis and a policeman, and 28 others were injured. The Omani police reported that the three gunmen responsible for the attack were killed.

The Indian Embassy in Muscat is closely monitoring the situation and assisting the Indian community. Ambassador Amit Narang assured full support for the repatriation of the deceased Indian national’s remains and the well-being of the injured. He also expressed sincere appreciation for the prompt action taken by Omani security agencies.
