Om Prakash Chautala Confident in INLD’s Victory in Haryana Elections

In Sirsa, Haryana, former Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Om Prakash Chautala expressed confidence that the INLD will form the government in Haryana. He stated that Aditya Chautala, the INLD candidate from the Dabwali constituency, will win with a significant margin. Aditya Chautala, who is the grandson of former Chief Minister Devi Lal, recently switched from the BJP to join the INLD.

The INLD is contesting the Haryana assembly elections in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). Over two crore voters are eligible to participate in the elections, which will determine if the BJP can secure a third consecutive term or if the Congress can return to power after a decade. A total of 1,031 candidates are competing across 90 assembly constituencies, with 20,632 polling booths set up for the election.

The results of the Haryana Assembly elections will be announced on October 8, alongside those of Jammu and Kashmir. The election is crucial as the BJP aims for a third term, while the Congress seeks to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiments and issues like farmer and wrestler protests. Key parties in the fray include the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the INLD-BSP alliance, along with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP) alliance.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 40 out of 90 seats and formed a coalition government with the JJP, which secured 10 seats. The Congress won 31 seats, but the JJP later exited the coalition.
