Ola Founder Bhavish Aggarwal Promotes Kurtas as Cool Fashion for Indian CEOs

New Delhi [India], July 7: Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola Cabs and Krutrim, is encouraging Indian CEOs to wear kurtas at public events. He believes kurtas are elegant and comfortable, fitting for formal occasions. Bhavish wants to bring back the cool factor of Indian fashion among the youth.

In a conversation, Bhavish mentioned how Western tech icons like Steve Jobs and Jensen Huang have made their attire statements. He noted that while many in India’s startup ecosystem look to the West for fashion inspiration, he prefers promoting Indian sartorial choices like kurtas.

Bhavish often mixes traditional Indian wear with modern styles, such as pairing a ‘bandi’ or Indian-style jacket with jeans. He feels it’s important to make Indian fashion appealing to the younger generation, similar to how Prime Minister Narendra Modi promoted Indian tourism.

A kurta is a loose, collarless shirt or tunic worn in South Asia and globally. It has evolved over the centuries to be suitable for both everyday wear and formal occasions.
