Officials Seize Illegal Drugs in Hyderabad’s Tarnaka
Officials from the Drugs Control Administration in Secunderabad seized physician’s samples and expired drugs illegally stocked for sale at a retail outlet in Hyderabad’s Tarnaka. The raid, led by Assistant Director D Saritha and several Drugs Inspectors, uncovered nine varieties of physician’s samples, six varieties of expired drugs, and one institutional supply drug worth Rs. 55,000.
Physician’s samples are meant to be given to doctors for free distribution to patients and are not intended for sale. The Drugs Control Administration in Telangana has been vigilant in detecting the illegal sale of such medicines. Legal action will be taken against the offenders under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, which can result in up to two years of imprisonment.
