Odisha Prepares for Cyclone Dana
Schools and Colleges Closed for Safety
Odisha Education Minister Nityananda Gond announced that schools in areas likely to be affected by Cyclone Dana will be closed from October 23 to 25 to ensure student safety. The state government has instructed district administrations to enforce these closures.

An order from the Odisha government states that colleges and universities in 14 districts, including Ganjam, Puri, and Cuttack, will also remain closed during this period.

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari revealed that over 5000 relief centers have been established, expecting around 10 lakh evacuations. These centers are equipped with essential supplies like food, water, and medicine.

The telecom department has assured that the network will remain operational, and Tata Energy has committed to providing continuous power supply, with backup arrangements in place.
