Odisha Prepares for Cyclone Dana
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s Leadership
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held a meeting to assess the state’s readiness for Cyclone Dana. He announced that evacuation efforts are underway, aiming to relocate 90% of residents by 11 AM the next day. Already, 3-4 lakh people have been evacuated. The government is taking the storm seriously, with arrangements in place for affected districts like Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, and Puri.

Around 6,000 relief centers have been prepared. Puri District Magistrate Siddharth Shankar Swain and Superintendent of Police Vineet Agrawal emphasized the readiness of fire brigade teams and the deployment of ODRAF and NDRF teams.

Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling stated that the Health Department is on high alert, with all CDMOs instructed and their leave canceled.
