Odisha Officer Dhobei Nayak Arrested for Bribery

Khandapada Tehsildar Dhobei Nayak, a senior Odisha Administrative Officer, was arrested on Tuesday for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 to release a vehicle. His associate was also arrested while receiving the money on his behalf.

Details of the Arrest

Dr. Sravana Vivek M., IPS SP Vigilance, stated that the Odisha vigilance team received a complaint about the Tehsildar demanding a bribe. A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and both the Tehsildar and his associate were arrested. Three properties owned by the Tehsildar were searched.

Previous Incident Involving BJP MLA

On May 26, BJP MLA Prashant Jagdev was arrested for allegedly entering a polling booth, misbehaving with officials, and damaging voting equipment. Deputy Inspector General Awinash Kumar confirmed the charges against Jagdev.
