Odisha Governor’s Son Accused of Assaulting Raj Bhavan Employee Baikuntha Pradhan
In Puri, Odisha, Baikuntha Pradhan, an employee at Raj Bhavan, has accused Lalit Kumar, the son of Governor Raghubar Das, and six others of assaulting him on the night of July 7. A complaint has been filed at the Sea Beach Police Station.
Details of the Incident
Pradhan, who works as an Assistant Section Officer in the Parliamentary Affairs Department, was at Raj Bhavan to prepare for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu. He claims that Lalit Kumar used offensive language and physically assaulted him when he objected. Pradhan alleges that he was slapped, punched, and kicked, resulting in injuries.
Threats and Further Allegations
Pradhan also stated that Lalit Kumar threatened his life, saying that no one could save him if they decided to kill him. Pradhan’s wife, Sayoj, added that the assault occurred because Lalit Kumar was unhappy with the car sent to pick him up, as many vehicles were occupied due to the President’s visit.
Call for Justice
Pradhan has written to the Governor seeking justice and has demanded that the accused be held accountable. Sayoj mentioned that they have lodged a complaint and are awaiting action. There has been no response from the Governor’s office or Lalit Kumar regarding these allegations.
