Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi Announces First BJP Budget and Opens Jagannath Temple’s Treasure

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Thursday that the BJP government will present its first budget in the assembly on July 25. This budget aims to empower the people and communities of the state. Majhi emphasized that the people will now have direct access to the CM, a change from the previous 24 years.

Majhi also criticized the previous BJD government for mishandling the Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove) of the Shri Jagannath Temple in Puri. He stated that the Ratna Bhandar was opened today to shift valuables and ornaments from the inner chambers to a temporary location, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Odisha government.

The inspection committee, chaired by Justice Biswanath Rath, oversaw the process, and security arrangements were made as per the SOPs. The King of Puri, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, visited the shrine and confirmed that the shifting of the ornaments would be completed by the evening.
