Odisha CM Majhi and Deputy CM Parida Launch ‘Subhadra Awareness Van’ for Women’s Empowerment
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy CM Pravati Parida launched the ‘Subhadra Awareness Van’ on Saturday. This initiative aims to promote the Subhadra scheme, which will be officially launched on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
Speaking at the event, CM Majhi said, “Subhadra scheme to be launched on September 17, which will help financially and empower the women across Odisha. Therefore, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, ‘Subhadra Awareness Rath’ is being flagged-off in Bhubaneswar, and later across Odisha, in a bid to make the beneficiaries aware about the scheme. More than 1 crore women will be benefited under the Subhadra scheme in the state.”
Earlier, Deputy CM Parida launched the Subhadra Yojana portal at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. She stated, “Beneficiaries willing to apply for the flagship scheme can now visit the official website of Subhadra and avail the benefits by sharing the necessary details. It will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.”
The Subhadra Yojana has a budget of Rs 10,000 crore and aims to provide Rs 50,000 to each beneficiary. A list of 1.5 crore women has been prepared, and a standard operating procedure will be established to manage the distribution of funds.
Chief Minister Majhi emphasized that the scheme is part of the BJP government’s broader commitment to women’s empowerment and the preservation of Odia culture. A corpus fund of Rs 200 crore has been established for this purpose.
