Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Criticizes Congress and Rahul Gandhi Over Jammu and Kashmir Alliance

New Delhi, India – Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has criticized the Congress party and its leader, Rahul Gandhi, for their alliance with the National Conference (NC) in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Majhi accused the Congress of being ‘blind for power’ and creating ‘anarchy, disorder, instability, and enmity’ in the country.

In a video message posted on social media platform X, Majhi said, ‘Rahul Gandhi should clarify his party’s stance on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Congress party is blind for power.’ He further accused the Congress party of repeatedly endangering national security and sovereignty by partnering with ‘divisive and anti-national elements.’

The pre-poll alliance was announced after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge met NC chief Farooq Abdullah. Farooq Abdullah stated that the Congress-NC would contest all 90 seats in the assembly polls. The formal announcement was made by NC patron Farooq Abdullah in Srinagar, with the slogan ‘United we stand’ posted on X.

The Congress and NC had previously fought the Lok Sabha elections together, with NC winning two seats—Anantnag and Srinagar—while Congress did not win any seats. The upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with results announced on October 4. This will be the first assembly poll in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370.
