Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Meets PM Modi in New York, Highlights India’s AI Potential
Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, attended a roundtable conference in New York hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Huang emphasized that India is at a pivotal moment and businesses should seize the opportunity.
Huang praised India’s computer scientists and expressed Nvidia’s interest in partnering with India on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. He said, “This is India’s moment. You have to seize the opportunity.”
Huang shared his positive experience of meeting with PM Modi, calling him “an incredible student” who is eager to learn about technology and AI. Huang stated, “I’ve enjoyed so many meetings with the Prime Minister. He’s such an incredible student and every time I see him, he wants to learn about technology, artificial intelligence, the potential and opportunity for India, and the impact on India, society and industry.”
Huang also highlighted India’s strong startup ecosystem, noting that India is the third largest country in terms of startups. He stressed the importance of AI infrastructure to sustain this ecosystem. “For all of the startups. India is the home of the third largest startup economy and so this new generation of startups are all based on AI and in order to do so, you have to have AI infrastructure,” he said.
Additionally, Huang mentioned that every Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has an Nvidia AI Centre of Excellence where professionals teach students how to upskill into the new world of AI. He concluded by stating that AI has democratized computing.
