NSUI Protests at NTA Office Over NEET-UG 2024 Exam Issues
Members of the Congress’ National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) held a protest at the National Testing Agency (NTA) office in New Delhi, citing irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. The protest was peaceful, with Delhi Police present at the scene.
NSUI’s Demands
Varun Choudhary, National President of NSUI, stated, “We are continuously demanding from the government that NTA should be banned. Students now do not believe in the examination being conducted by the NTA.” He added that the government has not taken any action on the issue.
Government’s Response
President Droupadi Murmu assured that the government is committed to a fair investigation into the paper leaks and will ensure stringent punishment for those found guilty.
Opposition’s Actions
The opposition coalition, INDIA bloc, held a meeting at Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s house to discuss the issue. They plan to raise the matter in Parliament.
CBI Investigation
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a criminal case to investigate the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, which was held on May 5, 2024. Special teams have been formed to probe the matter.
