NSUI Launches Manifesto and Introduces Candidates for Delhi University Elections
The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) held a press conference to launch its manifesto for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections and introduce its panel of candidates. Former NSUI National President Amrita Dhawan introduced the candidates to the media.

NSUI National President Varun Choudhary highlighted the key points of the manifesto, stating, “Our manifesto reflects a comprehensive approach to address all issues related to student welfare. We have carefully included provisions that focus on the holistic development of students, their rights, and campus infrastructure. NSUI is committed to delivering on every promise we have made.”
Choudhary expressed confidence in the candidates and the upcoming elections, saying, “We are confident that NSUI will secure a 4-0 victory in these elections. Each of our candidates has fought relentlessly for student rights and is deeply connected with the issues faced by the student community. Their commitment and hard work will resonate with the electorate.”
The manifesto emphasizes a student-first approach, focusing on improving campus facilities, securing fair opportunities for all students, ensuring transparent examinations, and amplifying student voices in decision-making processes. NSUI urges all students of Delhi University to come forward and support the candidates who are dedicated to making their university experience better and more inclusive.
In the 2023 election, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won three out of the four central panel seats, including the presidential post. Tushar Dedha of the ABVP was elected president, while NSUI’s Abhi Dahiya, the only NSUI winner, was chosen vice-president of the Students’ Union. As this year’s elections draw close, NSUI is confident about its candidates and their commitment to transforming Delhi University for the better.
The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students’ Association (AISA), who are contesting the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections jointly for the first time, also announced their candidates. The last date for nomination papers was September 12, while the final list of the candidates was published on September 13. The polls will be held on September 27.
