No Cybersecurity Incidents in Air Traffic Control Systems in Last Four Years: Murlidhar Mohol
New Delhi [India], July 29: Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, announced in the Rajya Sabha that no cybersecurity incidents have been reported in Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems over the past four years.
Responding to a query from Shiv Sena MP Milind Murli Deora, Mohol stated that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) ensures compliance with standards set by the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) and the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has implemented the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP), which requires various aviation entities to develop measures to protect critical information and communication technology systems.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation also issues security advisories and updates to protect against cyber threats. Costs for cybersecurity measures are budgeted under AAI’s expenditure for Communication, Navigation and Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems.
