Paris, France, August 6: Nita Ambani, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and chairperson of Reliance Foundation, honored Indian Olympic bronze medalists Manu Bhaker and Swapnil Kusale in Paris. The event took place at the India House, celebrating their achievements at the ongoing Paris Olympics.

Celebrating Indian Athletes

Other athletes honored included shuttler Lakshya Sen, shooters Vijayveer Singh Sidhu, Maheshwari Chauhan, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Sift Kaur Samra, Esha Singh, Raiza Dhillon, Anish Banwala, boxer Nishant Dev, shot put athlete Tajinderpal Singh Toor, and athlete Jeswin Aldrin. They were all presented with shawls for their outstanding performances.

Nita Ambani’s Remarks

Nita Ambani praised the shooting team’s top form at the Olympics. She highlighted Manu Bhaker’s adherence to the wisdom of the Bhagwat Geeta, which teaches to ‘Do your best and leave the rest to God.’ Ambani noted that this philosophy helped Manu change her destiny and that of her nation.

Ambani also commended Lakshya Sen for his fourth-place finish and his hard-fought campaign against Malaysia’s Zii Jia Lee. She emphasized that beyond medals and records, sports celebrate the human spirit, character, hard work, and the ability to confront all odds.

India’s Medal Tally

India has secured three bronze medals in shooting at the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker won a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, becoming the first Indian woman shooter to win an Olympic medal in this category. Manu and Sarabjot Singh also won a bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, marking India’s first-ever team shooting medal. Swapnil Kusale earned a bronze in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event, becoming the first Indian to win a medal in this category.
