India House Inaugurated at Paris Olympics
Nita Ambani, a member of the International Olympic Committee and chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, met with FIFA President Gianni Infantino during the opening ceremony of the first-ever India House at the Paris Olympics. The India House was inaugurated on Saturday.
India House is part of the Reliance Foundation and the Indian Olympic Association’s long-term partnership. This initiative aims to enhance the performance of Indian athletes, support national sports federations, and build India’s reputation as a global sporting nation, with hopes of hosting the Olympic Games in the future.
Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, Isha Ambani, and Executive Director of the Piramal Group, Anand Piramal, were also present at the event. Other notable attendees included BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, and the Ambassador of India to France, Jawed Ashraf.
India House at the Paris Olympics marks a significant step in India’s global sporting ambitions. Olympic Hospitality Houses, like India House, serve as platforms for countries to showcase their culture, hospitality, and national pride. They provide a space for fans to celebrate and support their athletes, and act as a “home away from home” for athletes and their families during the Games.
India House will serve as a showcase of India to the world, welcoming fans, key stakeholders from the global sports world, Indian travelers, media, and athletes. It will be the first time Indian athletes have a dedicated home at the Olympics, celebrating India’s sporting achievements and sportspersons.
