Vijender Singh and Randeep Hooda Question Scoring
Indian boxer Nishant Dev faced a tough match against Mexico’s Marco Verde in the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics. Despite appearing dominant in the first two rounds, Nishant lost the bout 4-1.
Former boxer Vijender Singh praised Nishant’s performance and questioned the scoring system, saying, “I don’t know what’s the scoring system, but I think very close fight..he played so well..koi na bhai #NishantDev.”
Actor Randeep Hooda also expressed his disappointment, stating, “Nishant had won it. What’s this scoring? Robbed of the medal but won hearts. Sad!! Many more to go chore!!”
Nishant had earlier secured his spot in the quarter-finals by defeating Ecuador’s Jose Rodriguez in a close match. However, his compatriot Amit Panghal also exited the Olympics after losing to Zambia’s Patrick Chinyemba in the men’s 51 kg category.
