In Mumbai, Maharashtra, businessman Niranjan Hiranandani expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of Ratan Tata, a prominent industry leader. Hiranandani described Tata’s death as a significant loss for the nation, highlighting his leadership, vision, and charitable nature. He shared a personal connection with Tata, praising his humility and kindness.

Hiranandani recalled Tata’s dedication to charitable causes, especially in cancer care, and shared a story illustrating Tata’s compassion. In 2018, Tata canceled a trip to London to receive an award because his dog was unwell, a gesture recognized by Prince Charles as a mark of Tata’s humanity.

Earlier, the Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, passed a resolution to award Ratan Tata the Bharat Ratna posthumously. Tributes were paid during a state cabinet meeting, and a day of mourning was declared. Tata’s last rites were conducted with full state honors, and his remains were displayed for public tribute at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was a key figure in the Tata Group and a respected philanthropist. He was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. His passing has been mourned by leaders across India, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
