NIA Searches Homes of CPI (Maoist) Supporters in Jharkhand
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches on Thursday at the homes of overground workers and sympathizers of the banned terror organization, CPI (Maoist), in Jharkhand. This operation is part of an ongoing investigation that began in August 2023, following the discovery of incriminating letters addressed to top leaders of CPI (Maoist) in July 2022 in the Anandpur area of Chaibasa district.
The NIA took over the investigation from local police and registered a case against nine accused individuals. The searches were conducted at three locations in Chaibasa, Jharkhand, specifically in Village-Pusalata, Police Station-Chakradharpur, District West Singhbhum, as well as Buru Rengra, Police Station-Jeteya, and Lipunga village, Police Station-Gua, all in District West Singhbhum, Jharkhand.
According to NIA investigations, these suspects were assisting the senior leadership of the proscribed outfit in carrying out Naxal activities. The investigation is ongoing.
