NIA Investigates Army Convoy Attack in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrived at the site of an ambush in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, where an Army convoy was attacked. This tragic incident resulted in the loss of five Army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer, and injuries to five others.
The attack occurred near Badnota village on July 8. In response, security has been tightened along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Jammu and Kashmir police have been deployed along the highway in Udhampur to ensure the safety of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
Since June 9, there have been multiple terror strikes in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda, resulting in the deaths of nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan, and injuries to a civilian and at least seven security personnel.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, directing all security agencies to work in a coordinated manner and ensure quick responses to such incidents.
