NIA Cracks Down on Human Trafficking and Cyber Fraud in Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids on Friday in multiple locations across Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. These raids aimed to uncover the involvement of various suspects in a human trafficking and cyber fraud case linked to Laos.
Key Details:
- Five locations were searched, leading to the seizure of digital devices and documents.
- The investigation focuses on Balwant alias Bobby Kataria and his company, MBK Global Visa Pvt. Ltd.
- Suspects allegedly lured youth with job promises and sent them to Laos for forced labor in fake call centers.
The NIA’s investigation revealed that the suspects managed the logistics and recruitment of victims, who were enticed through social media and then trafficked to the Golden Triangle SEZ in Laos. Victims were forced to work in fake call centers, physically abused, and had their travel documents confiscated if they refused to cooperate.
The case, initially registered by Gurugram police, was taken over by the NIA earlier this month and continues to be investigated under various sections of the IPC and Emigration Act.
