NIA Charges Two More Naxals in 2018 Bihar Abduction and Murder Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a new chargesheet against two more Naxals in the 2018 Bihar case involving the abduction and murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta. The chargesheet was filed on Friday, bringing the total number of accused to 11.

Details of the Accused

The two accused are Anil Yadav, also known as Ankush or Lavkush, from Gaya district, and Pramod Mishra, also known as Sohan Da or BB Ji, from Aurangabad district. Both are notorious Naxal terrorists with multiple criminal cases against them in Bihar and Jharkhand.

Arrest and Investigation

The duo was arrested in February this year. The NIA took over the investigation in June 2022. Investigations revealed that Pramod Mishra, a high-ranking member of the banned Naxal organization, directed other cadres to eliminate Naresh Singh Bhokta, suspecting him to be a police informer. Anil Yadav was a close aide of Mishra and actively involved in the case.

The Crime

On November 2, 2018, Naresh Singh Bhokta was abducted and killed by Naxal cadres. Mishra had convened a meeting in the forest of Anjanwa, where it was decided to eliminate various Special Police Officers, including Bhokta.
