NIA Charges Four Maoists in Chhattisgarh Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against four Maoists involved in an attack on security forces in Chhattisgarh. The accused, Aaytu Ram Nuruti, Manoj Kumar Hichami, Suresh Nuruti, and Budhuram Padda, were arrested after an encounter and found with several weapons, including BGL and BGL shells.
The NIA stated that these individuals are members of the banned CPI (Maoist) group and have been charged under the IPC, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, and UA (P) Act. The charges were filed before the NIA Special Court in Jagdalpur.
The attack occurred on January 16th in the PS Chhote Bethiya area of Kanker. The NIA took over the investigation in February 2024 and found that the accused were part of a conspiracy to attack security forces as part of their anti-India agenda. The NIA continues its investigation to prevent further disturbances by the CPI (Maoist) group.
