NIA Charges Four, Including Pakistan-Based Terrorist, for Killing Civilians in Kashmir
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has charged four individuals for the killing of two civilians in Kashmir. The accused are Adil Manzoor Langoo, Ahran Rasool Dar, Dawood, and their Pakistan-based handler Jahangeer.
The Incident
On February 7, 2024, the group killed two civilians in Karfali Mohalla, Shala Kadal, Srinagar. The NIA took over the case in June and re-registered it as RC-01/2024/NIA/JMU.
Details of the Accused
Adil Manzoor Langoo joined Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in 2023 and was motivated by Pakistani handlers to boost terror activities in Srinagar. He, along with Ahran Rasool Dar and Dawood, conspired with Jahangeer to spread fear and terror among non-locals.
Actions Taken
Adil and Ahran received arms and ammunition from Jahangeer, which were used in the crime. Dawood helped Adil destroy evidence. The NIA has been cracking down on terrorist organizations like LeT, which uses social media to lure unemployed youth into terrorism.
