NIA Charges Four in Chhattisgarh for Abduction and Killing by Naxals
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against four individuals, including a juvenile, for the abduction and murder of Gopniya Sainik Kishan Kursam in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. The accused, Guddu Kursam, Dula Kursam, Sunil Mandvi, and a juvenile, are linked to the banned Naxal group.
According to the NIA, Guddu Kursam is a member of the Naxal group and President of ‘Moolwasi Bachav Manch’, a front organization of the Gangloor Area Committee. Dula Kursam is also a member of ‘Moolwasi Bachav Manch’, and Sunil Mandvi is the Vice President of Militia Gram Raksha Dal and a member of Chetna Natya Manch.
The victim, Kishan Kursam, was kidnapped and killed by armed Naxal cadres in December 2023. His body was found on the Gorna-Mankeli road near Padiyapara. The NIA took over the case in February and continues to investigate.
