NHRC Calls for Action on School Conditions in Gautam Budh Nagar
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has instructed the District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar to address a complaint about the poor state of government schools in the district. The complaint, filed by Advocate Ashok Agarwal, highlights violations of students’ right to education.

Agarwal, representing the Social Jurist NGO, reported that many schools lack basic amenities like drinking water, desks, and teachers. He also noted the absence of sweepers, which affects hygiene. The complaint emphasizes the need for special educators for children with special needs.
Survey Findings
During a survey on September 6, Agarwal visited three schools and found widespread issues. He urged the Uttar Pradesh government to create sweeper positions and improve facilities. Additionally, he discovered that children of migrant workers at a construction site were not enrolled in schools.
