NHA and MUHS Team Up to Boost Digital Health Education in India
New Delhi, August 13: In a major move to enhance Digital Health education across India, the National Health Authority (NHA) and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda.
Key Highlights of the MoU
The collaboration will see MUHS offering its Digital Health Foundation Course (DHFC) to NHA and co-developing additional Digital Health programs to support the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). The NHA will continue to guide government policy on digital health to create an interoperable digital health ecosystem.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda emphasized that this partnership is a significant milestone in integrating digital health education into medical curricula, enhancing the skills of medical students and professionals, and driving the broader implementation of ABDM. He also highlighted the importance of capacity-building for health workers to effectively implement the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).
Deepti Gaur Mukerjee, CEO of NHA, stated that the partnership with MUHS will accelerate the adoption of digital health solutions across India, ensuring future healthcare professionals are well-prepared to use these technologies for better patient outcomes.
Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd), Vice-Chancellor of MUHS, expressed pride in making Maharashtra the first state in India to introduce Digital Health for all medical students and looked forward to supporting NHA in the national roll-out.
About the Digital Health Foundation Course (DHFC)
The DHFC, created by MUHS with support from the Koita Foundation, provides a comprehensive understanding of Digital Health fundamentals to doctors and healthcare providers. The course will be available to medical students, in-service doctors, and healthcare professionals through various platforms, including Mission Karmayogi’s iGOT platform, offering opportunities for Digital Health certification and continuing medical education credits.
