New Terminal 1 at Delhi Airport to Open on August 17 for IndiGo and SpiceJet Flights

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport’s new Terminal 1 will become operational on August 17. IndiGo and SpiceJet will shift their flight operations to this terminal, according to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).

Background

Flight operations at Terminal 1 were suspended in June due to a canopy collapse incident. The new terminal is part of DIAL’s Phase 3A expansion project.

Flight Shifts

SpiceJet will move 13 flights to Terminal 1 on August 17, and IndiGo will move 34 flights from Terminals 2 and 3 to Terminal 1 on September 2.

Passenger Information

SpiceJet passengers will enter through Entry Gate A on the ground floor, while IndiGo passengers will use Entry Gates 5 and 6 on the first floor. All arrivals will take place on the ground floor.

Assistance and Services

DIAL has installed signage and deployed RAXA guards to assist passengers. A new Mobile Check-in Service will help passengers avoid long queues at check-in counters.
